I did my research on Google Scholar, reading many research papers/studies and such there. I developed a list of specifications from the common threads of the research I read, then began to try to find a company producing products that fell within those specifications. I found Novaalab in this way. I had been trapped at home due to constant, high-level (9) pain which radiated down both legs to my feet and toes due to multiple herniated discs, severe stenosis and more. I had been in decline since last year and steep decline after seeing a physical therapist, who eventually told me to go see my surgeon. I've had 3 previous surgeries. My surgeon said he'd recommend I avoid surgery as long as possible, as the surgical options would be much more invasive and a much more difficult recovery. He referred me to their pain management center, but they didn't offer an appointment until 6 weeks later. I had to cancel a highly anticipated vacation with my wife and had her go alone. I purchased the handheld laser, the small pad/belt and the XL pad. I was up and about the house, then able to go out to dinner the same day I received my order. Less than 2 weeks later, my wife and I rode our motorcycles from FL to OH and back; just over 3,000 miles. I bought 2 pads. I have venous insufficiency.. for 5 years. Wear medical compression stockings. I have tried another company's device and it was older..and hand held. Not too convenient for my needs. In 5 years ..the improvements in different types of sizes...and flat pads??!! Awesome! I looked at many many types for a couple weeks before deciding on Novaalab. WOW is all I can say!
