This is an issue that is pretty widespread from nation to nation, but for whatever reason, it can sometimes be quite difficult to put your finger on what the best solution may be. With red light therapy, we’re hoping that we have an answer that will help all of your concerns wash away.

Sunspots are a common and frustrating part of skin damage, and they can lead to anything from serious medical issues to generally visible ailments for people across the globe. Today, we’re going to try to figure out what kind of assistance red light therapy can provide for people with sunspots as experts attempt to tackle the issue as best they can.

What are sunspots/liver spots/age spots?

Sunspots have taken on a few different names over the years, such as liver spots and age spots, but for the sake of this piece, we’re going to refer to them as the former. They are areas of hyperpigmentation that are generally considered to be harmless, but even with that being the case, they can often be uncomfortable or displeasing for those who have them, if only from a visual standpoint.

They are caused by a great deal of exposure to the sun, and most commonly, they transpire in individuals who are over the age of 40. It can happen to those who are younger, but you’re more likely to be at risk as the years go by - and as you continue to sunbathe at every available opportunity.

Although they can’t directly hurt you and are mostly benign, any kind of increased sun exposure can increase the odds of you developing more serious conditions down the line. Therefore, between such a dramatic line of thinking and those who don’t like glancing at sunspots on their face and body, we’ve opted to take a closer look ourselves.

How red light therapy helps with sunspots

Red light therapy may seem like a scary proposition on the face of it, but in reality, it’s safe to use as a method of helping with many injuries and ailments - and it doesn’t take up too much of your time, either. In terms of what’s actually happening, though, one of the biggest talking points here is the production of collagen.

In a previous study, red light therapy has been shown to improve cellular function on a scale that can increase the production of collagen and elastin. In addition to helping with wrinkles and general skin care, this also opens up the door for reducing and preventing further sunspots, which serves as a huge breakthrough in the field.

Even if it’s only being used for 10 minutes per day, you can start to see a response from your skin in around two weeks. With numbers like that, it’s no wonder that more and more people are testing the waters with RLT every single day.

Reviewer - 5 stars (Novaa Glow Therapy Mask)

"I have been using the mask 5 times a week (20 minutes per session) for 3 months. It is spectacular! It has several led colors, functions, and comes with a manual explaining what the focus of each led color. There is the possibility to have a glow session by combining all colors in one session. It also has several intensity levels to choose from and two masks: one for the face and another one for the neck. You see changes in around 2 weeks: clearer skin, lesser lines, softer young-looking skin, pore reduction, and even some sun spots start to give in. The only downside is the comfort and the eye protection, it really hurts after you take it off and it is rather uncomfortable during the session, you definitely can't have the mask and walk around or do chores, you barely have visibility; however, compared to other masks, the price is really good for what the mask does, so I can only recommend it."
